Dr. Pabo is a physician leader, tech-enabled care delivery strategist and social entrepreneur deeply committed to transforming the health care system into one better able to meet the needs of individual patients and populations at a cost that is sustainable to society over time.
She joined Humana in the fall of 2018 to serve as Chief Health Officer for Author by Humana, working to create a fundamentally new experience and better outcomes for seniors who need it most. In this role, she oversees strategy and operations across member service, care management, utilization management, clinical pharmacy, clinical quality/STARS, social determinants of health, and supplemental virtual/in-home care delivery including behavioral health, primary care and IHWA for Author by Humana members.
She continues to see patients as a primary care physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital Advanced Primary Care Practice, South Huntington – a level III NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home – as well as on the inpatient Intensive Teaching Unit at BWH. She also serves as Associate Faculty at Ariadne Labs and Faculty at Harvard Medical School.
She most recently served as the Associate Medical Director for Brigham and Women’s Hospital Primary Care Center of Excellence and Medical Director for Population of Health overseeing the population health management portfolio for all of the primary care’s covered lives as well as helping overseeing primary care growth, operational improvement and care delivery innovation in areas ranging from behavioral health and substance use disorders to chronic disease management to physician wellness. Prior to her work at BWH, she worked at Twine Health, Harvard Medical School Center for Primary Care, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, and the Global Health Delivery Project. Pabo has also provided consulting services to health care delivery and health care technology companies, incubators and investors.
Pabo earned a BA in History of Medicine from Yale College, a medical degree from Harvard Medical School and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine in both the Primary Care and Management and Leadership tracks at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and is ABIM board-certified in Internal Medicine.
